“Voting could not be simpler. Just visit to www.persimmonhomes.com/building-futures/finalists and select Swindon Children’s Scrapstore and vote for us we would really appreciate everyone’s support.”

Swindon Children’s Scrapstore is on the shortlist to win a share of Persimmon Homes’ Building Futures £1million pot supporting under-18s nationwide but first they need online votes to win.

Persimmon Homes Wessex is backing Swindon Children’s Scrapstore to be a prize winner at a gala dinner in October, where cash awards of £100,000, £50,000 or £20,000 will be made to those winning the most online votes.

Olivia McCann representing Swindon Children’s Scrapstore said: “It is a huge achievement to have been selected as a regional finalist, but now we really need people to get behind us and get voting so that we are in the strongest possible position to earn one of the top three cash awards on the night.”

The Swindon Children’s Scrapstore is a registered charity, community resource centre and social enterprise that runs a range of projects which are all set up to benefit local people and communities.

The project we would like to fund is Scrappers Boxing Gym and Community Fitness Centre.

We would spend the money improving our facility.  We would also use the money to provide free sessions for disadvantaged people and groups within the community who cannot afford to access our services. We would also like to employ a gym manager who would be involved in the planning, organising and delivery of activities.

Swindon Scrapstore is open to all members of the public and is located at Unit 7, Bramble Close, Elgin Industrial Estate, Swindon, SN2 8DW.

Opening Times: Tuesday through to Friday 10am – 4pm and every Saturday 10am – 2pm.
